Just another reason I’m a loyal Starbucks customer <3

A funny thing happened on the way to the theater … okay we weren’t going to the theater, we were going to Auto Zone … and it probably wasn’t even funny … but in the early morning light my caffeine deprived brain thought it was funny so I’m going to tell you about it. Also it sort of ties into Things I Love Thursday.

So like I’ve already said we were going to Auto Zone this morning. The starter went on the BMW on Christmas Eve so James is fixing that today and luckily was able to take some time off work to do it. If only every job had paid time off, but I guess that’s what you get when you stay in school for 5 years, anywho, so what better motivation to drag my ass out of bed this morning than “Hun auto-zone is by Starbucks, we can stop there first” That did it, I was up and presentable in about 5 minutes. Now  for a little background on our Starbucks trips, as I’m sure you know it’s a fairly expensive habit unless you’re drinking just coffee but I like the seasonal drinks and Starbucks is a treat so today I was totally feeling a Creme Brule Latte Venti of course. To save money James and I usually just split a Venti but we often run into the problem of him drinking it all as I like to savor it and enjoy it. So this morning while waiting in line I told him to get his own, but he didn’t want to so I said “if you drink it all i’ll kill you in you’re sleep” he laughed and the barista thought it was hilarious so when we got our drink there was this nice little note on it.

Breakfast of champions

*Don’t drink past here 🙂

I can’t think of a time when I was disappointed by the customer service at Starbucks, they are always so friendly. When I worked at American Eagle I used to go there almost twice a day and first thing in the morning I could stumble in there half awake (how i drove to work is beyond me) and mumble incoherently and without a doubt the barista would make me something amazing. So the long and short of it I guess is that i’m one of those people that will pay the extra money for the perfectly brewed espresso and friendly staff. Now if only they delivered =)

Bold outerwear! Red is totally in right now and Pea Coats are always in style!
I just bought a black Calvin Klein pea coat for my birthday very similar to this one
I love dying my hair and red is one of my favorite colors to dye it so I try to avoid red staples in my wardrobe.
But this coat rocks!

I’m not usually an early adopter but I was desperate for a Kindle Fire, I had my old E-Reader for years and it was dying an agonizing death so for my birthday/christmas I upgraded! and I couldn’t be happier!

Hairbows, let’s talk hand knit bows! How cute!! InezGill is AMAZING! I can’t say it enough!

My newest crafty project <3

Okay, so for my Etsy shop I make  a lot of “Cup Cozies” and they’re a big hit, but the ones I’ve been making for the past year are for travel mugs primarily and don’t fit on mugs unless your mug doesn’t have a handle. So I’ve been trying to figure out a pattern for Mug Cozies and I’m happy to report I have succeed!

^Travel mug sleeve (way better than cardboard!)

On to the new cozies!

My book recomendations for you!

So I just finished an awesome series, well started a series i guess i should say because the series isn’t finished but I have been telling everyone I can how amazing this author is! It’s been a while since I totally fell in love with characters like this. It’s a happy book, I mean there’s some drama but overall it has a very happy tone and keeps you up at night in a good way. So the first book is A Modern Witch, A Hidden Witch, and A Reckless Witch that just came out. There’s also another series called Witches on Parole that is set in the same “world” Read that one after A Hidden Witch.

I got these as Amazon ebooks for my new ereader, and I couldn’t put them down! And I can’t wait until the next books come out! Debora Geary is an amazing author and has a great talent for writing a story.
You can get the paperback for 7.99, or 3.99 for the ebook, or FREE with amazon prime!

“Can you live 28 years without discovering you’re a witch?

Lauren is downtown Chicago’s youngest elite realtor. She’s also a witch. She must be – the fetching spell for Witches’ Chat isn’t supposed to make mistakes. So says the woman who coded the spell, at least.

The tall, dark, and handsome guy sent to assess her is a witch too (and no, that doesn’t end the way you might think). What he finds in Lauren will change lives, mess with a perfectly good career, and require lots of ice cream therapy.

A Modern Witch is a full length novel, 81,000 words or about 300 pages. Light contemporary fantasy with a good dose of humor, a little romance, and characters you won’t want to leave.” -Amazon

I could go on and on about these books, but really, try them! You’ll fall in love!

I also just finished The Hunger Games trilogy. I cried so much!! I don’t want to give anything away, but it’s another great series to read, but if you’re looking for a happy book dont’ read these.

I just downloaded the new PC cast book Divine Beginnings  which is a prequel to the Parthenon novels which I enjoyed a lot. I loved all of her Goddess Summoning books. I’ll let you know how it is when I finish. I also downloaded the deal of the day, which was a 7 book set called The Witches of Santa Anna for only 2.99! I just couldn’t pass it up. So we’ll see how it is ❤

But overall, READ DEBORA GEARY!!!

Spiced Hot Chocolate

Since I’ve had my Kindle I’ve been playing with all sorts of new apps, and there is one called the Ifood Assistant which I love! It’s from Kraft, and I’ve used their website before to help me make grocery shopping lists. There’s a tool where you can type in what food you have available and it gives you recipes based on that, so awesome. Anyway, so I was browsing the hot beverages and found Spiced hot chocolate and made it this morning and it is so yummy! So I had to share.

What You Need
1 cup milk
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 square BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, finely chopped
2 OREO Cookies – I just made a batch of Oatmeal chocolate chip so I used that instead.

Make It

BRING milk and cinnamon just to boil in saucepan on medium-high heat.
ADD chocolate; beat with whisk until chocolate is melted and milk is slightly frothy.
SERVE hot with the cookies.

Gingerbread Cupcakes

I made these Gingerbread Cupcakes for James for their holiday work party. I had to double the recipe to make 2 dozen. But the recipe below is technically for cake and the serving size is 6. But cupcakes I think are easier.

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup low fat milk
1/2 cup light molasses
1/4 cup melted butter
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg white
1 cup all- purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1. Combine the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl; beat at medium speed until smooth.
2. Combine flour and the next 5 ingredients; stir well. Add to milk mixture, beating well.
3. Pour into cupcake tins or into cake pans.

The Frosting I used was a basic cream cheese frosting.

1/2 cup butter
8oz cream cheese
2 cups confectioner’s sugar

Beat all together until smooth and creamy.
